“Butterfly Machine, you make an ugly world pretty.” That line sums up the message of this title track. Butterfly Machine was written and recorded during a time when we all were under a huge amount of stress (Covid, politics, social unrest), and I found that sleep became a different kind of necessity that I longed for - a refuge that allowed me the peace to process all that was going on, and wake up in the morning and keep going. It is that nightly escape that lets us all come back to ourselves. In dreaming you can be yourself, feel more at ease. The world's problems don't go away, but our remarkably powerful and adaptive minds let us alchemize those problems into something different.
Inspired by musican's like Banks, Portishead, Lorde and Billie Eilish.
Vocals were recorded by Nekane in Bilbao,Spain. Music/lyrics were written and produced by Atlas Cage in Austin, TX.
